The Hitachi VSP F350 is a flexible, rack-mountable all-flash array that uses only flash drives that may be resized for different combinations of storage capacity. Conventional hard discs are not supported in the VSP Fx00 models because low-latency host response times and high IOPS performance must be delivered consistently across all host connection ports. The storage systems include several controllers with fast CPUs, dual in-line cache memory modules (DIMMs), cache flash memory (CFM), a battery, fans, and connectors to link iSCSI and Fibre Channel I/O modules to deliver high performance operations. There is an Ethernet connection on each controller for out-of-band management. All data discs remain accessible to hosts by utilising a redundant data path through the other controller in the event that the data path through one controller fails.
