The Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform G700 is an adaptable, rack-mountable modular hybrid array storage system with drive boxes that can accommodate SAS drives, flash drives, and TLC-NAND flash module drives that are scalable for different storage capacity combinations. The storage systems use ports to link iSCSI and Fibre Channel I/O modules, dual controllers with high-speed processors, dual in-line cache memory modules (DIMMs), cache flash memory (CFM), a battery, and fans to enable high-performance operations. There is an Ethernet connection on each controller for out-of-band management. All data discs remain accessible to hosts by utilising a redundant data path through the other controller in the event that the data path through one controller fails.
