The new 6Gb SAS enclosures, which come in two sizes—Large Form Factor (LFF) D2700 with 12 drive bays and Small Form Factor (SFF) D2700 with 25 drive bays—offer modular solutions to make it easier to expand the storage capacity of HPE ProLiant server environments to external storage without switching entirely to SAN or NAS. By using the next generation 6Gb SAS low-cost, flexible tiered external storage system, you can manage the expanding storage needs of your small and midsize organisation. Ideal for tier 2 or 3 storage for enterprise clients, remote offices, departmental sites, small application environments in SMBs, and SMBs. The new 6Gb SAS enclosures, which come in two sizes—Large Form Factor (LFF) D2700 with 12 drive bays and Small Form Factor (SFF) D2700 with 25 drive bays—offer modular solutions to make it easier to expand the storage capacity of HPE ProLiant server environments to external storage without switching entirely to SAN or NAS. It enables you to buy what you require immediately and add capacity as your data storage requirements increase. Direct attach storage to ProLiant Servers with the HPE Smart Array P411, P212, P812, P222, P421, P431, P441, P822, or the P841 Controllers is supported by the D2700 enclosures. Dual Domain support is provided for the HPE Smart Array P411, P421, P431, P441, P822, or P841 Controllers attached to a D2600/D2700 on HPE ProLiant and Integrity servers. (Only in environments with one initiator.) The P421Controller must be used with the HPE Smart Array Advanced Pack 2.0 No Media 1 Server 1yr 24x7 Support Software for Dual Domain. HPE Integrity servers support Windows 2008 R2 and HPE UX 11iv3 operating systems (single initiator environment only). HPE Smart Array P711m, P721m, P731m, and P741m Controllers, 6Gb SAS BL Switches, and D2700 disc enclosures are used to allow blade 6Gb SAS communication.
