HPE Proliant DL140 G2

Server Computer
ProLiant DL140 G2 is a reasonably priced 1U, a two-processor capable server that gives users a platform to construct a fully optimised solution, perfect for general-purpose and high-performance computing. It is loaded with key performance features. The DL140 G2's Intel Xeon CPU has several brand-new Xeon processor features. The Xeon front-side bus used with the DL140 G2 operates at 800 MHz, much faster than the 533 MHz front-side bus rates used with the DL140 G1. The DL140 G2 will include processors with both 1M and 2M of Level 2 cache for greater throughput. The DL140 G2 (PC2-3200) supports 16GB of 400MHz dual-interleaved DDR SDRAM. Each model includes 1 GB of memory as standard, which fits into one DIMM slot. Additionally, it offers the option of increasing their memory load utilising 1GB or 2GB DIMMs. The DL140 G2 includes optional support for: • CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives. • PCI Express riser. Some slight changes were made to improve the overall offering of the DL140 G2. • The DL140 G2 does not include standard support for parallel ATA hard drives. Technology has moved to serial ATA (SATA) hard drives. NHP SCSI drives will also be offered. • The DL140 G2 no longer supports IPMI 1.0. It now offers support of IPMI 1.5 with optional Lights Out 100i. In addition to supporting SATA and using IPMI 1.5, the DL140 G2 will support the following: • Optional PCI Express slot - This will allow faster I/O throughput and investment protection. • Additional low-profile/half-length PCI slot - for a more excellent range of expansion board support. • Faster memory and processors.
